On 24th December I scheduled an item to be listed today (31st Dec at 18.30). I was messaged by eBay saying my item will not be listed because of a policy violation. I have apparently included my contact details in the listing. Which I haven't. I've triple checked the listing and there's no clue to who I am or how to contact me other than via eBay.
I've tried for days to speak to a human at customer services and can only speak to AI which is totally unhelpful because I need a human to tell me what is specifically wrong with the listing so I can correct it. I submitted an appeal on the 24th and haven't received a response.
Has eBay closed down for the holidays? If so, when do they return?

We haven't heard that they've closed down for the holidays but it's definitely much harder to reach a human since they got rid of our callback request link. All you can do is get to automated assistant and keep repeating that you want to speak to an agent. It may be easier in the mornings so have a go now.

Did you have a third party link in your listing description (leading to manufacturer instructions or something)?
The word 'Code' anywhere or a long number that the AI has decided is a contact phone number?

Hi Vyolla
Thank you for your help.
There is no third party link. The only thing I can think of is an image which has the original manufacturers' details on it. I'm selling an item which is in it's original box, I've taken an image of each side of the box, the bottom box has all the specifications about the item including the manufacturer's details.
I've done the same thing before and was not questioned over it.

I can't see an issue there, it is crazy that you get a policy breach notification but no reason as to why.

Thank you peaseblossom
I ask to speak to an agent. AI asks why and gives several options, the nearest one to what I want being 'selling an item'. Then AI says it can help, which it can't.
I then get the message, 'Hmm, looks like something went wrong. If you try again shortly it should be fixed. You can also get more info at online help.'
This has been happening for days.
I'll keep trying, thank you.

Obviously AI can't help but a human would be able to resolve it in minutes if not seconds.
Thank you for trying to help.

As you suggested, I kept trying and managed to get through to a human.
Two people have looked at the listing and cannot see what's wrong with it. They're showing it to their tech department and will get back to me.
Thank you again for your help.

That's good. Hopefully they'll sort it out for you. 🙂

Could you provide details of your wording?
It has been known for the robots to make up banned wordings, by linking parts of two words together.
