How can I manually add tracking to an order when eBay won’t give me the option?

Hi all, hoping someone can help.

I’ve sold an item and posted it via Royal Mail Tracked, but during the listing I selected Evri as the postage option (with eBay’s prepaid label) but I totally forgot this and just posted by Royal Mail tracked at my local post office. Now I’ve realised that eBay isn’t giving me the option to mark the item as dispatched or add tracking manually—the only button available is “Get prepaid label.”

I have a certificate of posting as proof and tracking reference, but there’s literally no option to upload tracking or mark it as sent. How do I resolve this? Do I need to contact support directly or is there a workaround?

Appreciate any advice—thanks!

You may need a laptop / PC and use Chrome that combo seems to work well,  then:

  • Go to "Orders Paid & Dispatched"
  • Click on "View order details"
  • Within the "Postage" section there's a small dropdown arrow next to "Track Package" - click on that.
  • Click on the "Add tracking" option
  • A box will come up with the current tracking number . Delete that and replace it with your tracking.

If it's not possible you could try Customer Services see if they can add it for you, easiest way to contact them.....   https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/eua?id=5275&mkevt=1&mkpid

If all the above fails,  you'll have a minimum wait of 14 days before that payout is released.

As tressygirl says you will get your payment after 14 days but the postage the buyer paid has gone to eBay and when you don't use the provided label the buyer will be refunded this charge in about 30 days meaning you have paid for the postage
