How I Handle Scammers Without Losing My Peace of Mind

Hi everyone,

As a seller, one of the toughest parts of the journey is facing dishonest buyers or scammers — especially when you're doing everything right.

Recently, a buyer opened a false INR (Item Not Received) case against me, even though the item had been delivered with valid tracking. Instead of reacting emotionally, I calmly submitted proof, explained the situation to eBay, and let the system work.

Here are my top tips to handle such situations:

  1. Always use tracked shipping — never ship without proof.

  2. Take clear photos before dispatch — packaging, product, and label.

  3. Stay calm, never argue with buyers — just reply professionally.

  4. Use the eBay resolution center — and submit clear evidence.

  5. Keep your communication polite and within eBay.

Even if you end up refunding sometimes, eBay notices your honesty. In my case, they even removed the defect from my account when they reviewed everything.

 Tip to all sellers:
Stay loyal to eBay’s policies. Run your business with integrity. The platform truly supports those who do things the right way.

Thanks for reading.

it would be best to take notice of previous advice given to you on other threads -

These are the UK boards and you are in Pakistan best log into your designated site - https://www.ebay.com/

The rules and laws can be very different - I don't think that there's any private/business difference on .com
