Has anyone had problems with Authenticity Guarantee?

We had an item of jewellery rejected as it was marked as 375 ( a recognised mark for 9ct gold since Victorian times). The, so called , professional inspector , said he didn't recognize it, as it was probably foreign!! It was returned to us with the packaging screwed up in the envelope and the necklace rattling around in the box. How would it have been packed to send on to the buyer if it hadn't been rejected..I wonder.

Gold jewellery sent for suthentication has to comply with Ebay's jeweller policy and needs to have a full UK hallmark - details are here:
