We had an item of jewellery rejected as it was marked as 375 ( a recognised mark for 9ct gold since Victorian times). The, so called , professional inspector , said he didn't recognize it, as it was probably foreign!! It was returned to us with the packaging screwed up in the envelope and the necklace rattling around in the box. How would it have been packed to send on to the buyer if it hadn't been rejected..I wonder.
