Faulty item as informed by email not to use

Received an email regarding an item I bought having safety issues and not to use was ordered in August seller is saying item is fine and it is incorrect what I have received how do I get a refund as will not use now due to what I have received

eBay is obliged to send this ' warning' letters if received from the manufacturer,  but if 30 days have passed your purchase date from eBay,  as it has here,  the seller is not obliged to refund you now.

Contact the manufacturer,  see what they recommend,  as I think you may also now,  be out of time to claim anything from your payment provider.
