Evri Nightmare Again

I am needing to vent a little steam following another Evri non delivery nightmare. I cannot understand why after repeated problems with this courier E-bay are still using Evri as a 'simple delivery' option.

I ordered 4 items from the same buyer in a week. 3 items were sent via RM and one Evri. 

 

All RM parcels arrived quickly - the Evri one still hasn't arrived a week after it arrived at the local depot. Its not the sellers fault but I am frustrated with the complete waste of time for me as a buyer.

 

I contacted Evri which in itself is very difficult. The telephone number and Ezra chat just send you in a loop. For a while my tracking number also was not recognised. Eventually through the rate the delivery? I managed to get through to 'Clare' who may just be another bot or scripted 'person' who said that my delivery would be out yesterday and if not would contact me today. Guess what - parcel never arrived and another email arrived from 'Claire' that they are now escalating it to the local Manager of the depot to 'get things moving' further I would receive an ETA today - well its 15:45 and nothing. 

Tracking still says Sat 2nd May 'delay - we aim to deliver the next working day', even with the Bank Holiday its been 4 working days and nothing more bar 'Enquiry raised' which was me trying to find out what's going on.

 

I have reported the item as 'not received' and would still like the item rather than a refund BUT just checked and e-bay are giving Evri until Wed next week to deliver. Fine but I am not holding out much hope.

 

It really feels like this is dragging on.

 

I know this is Evri not Ebay but why use for Simple Delivery? Its anything BUT simple.

 

As others have said  'my heart just drops when I know its Evri delivering and know its a 50/50 if the item will arrive at all'.

 

Its just not good enough. It really makes me question buying again from Ebay as I really don't want this hassle!

 

History

 

-Evri have delivered my parcel but also left a parcel for someone 5 miles away the parcel contents were strewn on my door mat . I then had the hassle of trying to reunite the parcel to the owner - which I managed to do but not without again a load of hassle. 

-Had a courier trying to enter the field next door (with barley growing) to drop off my parcel.

-Message 'delivered' but again was a photo of another persons house.

-Item just not arriving.

-Item delayed when its a Birthday/Christmas

 

Some of the drivers are lovely and do their job diligently and I am delighted that maybe 'its changed' and 'future deliveries will be fine' but then like now I am rudely reminded that no its not a trustworthy company.

 

I wish if Ebay still want to use Evri that the buyer has the choice of delivery company. I would happily pay more for RM as locally they are more reliable. I don't want to spend a week checking tracking, chasing an item, having to report 'item not received' then maybe waiting for a refund when all I want is what I have bought. Buyer guarantees are great but its not all about money - its the hassle, its the disappointment etc

 

I think if buyers were given the option of who delivers many would not be choosing Evri.

 

I love Ebay but please reconsider using Evri as a delivery partner! Its honestly putting me off buying.
