Email from ebay@info.ebay.co.uk about selling bladed items

I recieved this email even though I have never sold bladed items and currently have no items for sale.

Do I need to worry about this? Thanks in advance for any help.

Since you’re listing bladed items on ebay.co.uk, we’re writing to let you know about some urgent new requirements. Starting from this Thursday, 11 March 2025, we’re expanding and strengthening buyer age-verification requirements for bladed items to ensure only people aged 18 or older are able to purchase and receive them. This protects both buyers and sellers, provides safety and reassurance, and helps keep you legally compliant.

Please note that the sale of many types of knives and bladed items remains prohibited on eBay. Those that we allow need to be located in the UK, and delivered using an age-verified delivery service. Proof of age will also be required from buyers at checkout. To find out which items need to meet these requirements on eBay, take a look at our policy page.

Thanks for the tag @plum993

Hi @rikdon,

Thats just a general email to make people aware of the policy. It's possible you sold something in a category that contained restricted items like cutlery sets or craft knives in the past.

It's nothing to worry about, it's just you you're aware of it in the future.

Thanks,

Dave
