Currently selling medal ribbon with £1.50 U.K. postage.

When I try and edit the quantity no option to change to Custom Postage and Ebay want me to charge £2.70.

The item values are £1.50, £3.00 and £4.50 so way below Ebay's £10 and the category is  Collectables which thought were excluded from Simple Delivery.

Any ideas as don't want to rip off buyer's postage wise but charging £2.70 will probably kill the sales.

Have read the moans and groans about SD but don't want to stop selling on ebay just want to be fair to buyers.

“Any ideas as don't want to rip off buyer's….”

But you are ripping buyers off by the paying BPF. If your account was correctly registered you wouldn’t be subject to simple delivery.

as a private seller you cannot be selling multiple military ribbons as new.

As advised, you are obviously trading - buying to sell - and should have a business account.

Business sellers don't have to use Simple Delivery so your issue would no longer apply to a business account.

I can assure you that I am not buying to sell.

Have been collecting QEII Great Britain stamps for over sixty years and medal ribbons for over twenty. Fast approaching eighty so trying to clear out all my duplicated items amassed in that time as no one to leave them to.

Want them to go to collectors who will appreciate them, at a fair price

So you collected 218 WW1 star ribbons for the fun of it.

I don't think ebay will believe that.

The postage issue you asked about initially is easily solved by upgrading to business seller.

I suspect that having listed as multiple items, this would prevent the ribbons falling into the exempt category.

In their wisdom ebay no longer show what category your items are listed in, but although they say collectables, badges and patches are exempt not all  sub categories seem to apply as I have found in the badges categories, with for example military badges are ok but sport badges are not, so I use Other to cover a multitude of sins.

I am never going to use simple delivery, for a start it is not simple and far too expensive, coupled with buyer protection fee for low value items.
