Ebay not interested in warranty , faulty goods from seller

Seller using every means not to replace faulty goods , this has been going on for almost 3 x months , now insisting on a copy of my qualifications as a mechanic / technician of 50 years for a plug and play resistor held on with two screws and a plug , ebay not interested , have been on the phone to ebay and they say take it up with trading standards , I will not purchase from ebay again , I have been using ebay for over 20 years , 100% feedback means nothing , on another note -:  my other half has been selling unwanted items on ebay and she can no longer withdraw the money as they say the bank account is not recognised , same bank account for years.

EBAY IS TRASH NOW

Some sellers do fob off buyers with false promises of replacements or refunds,  hoping the buyer will then lapse over the 30 day time limit to claim for a full refund when receiving a faulty item.  Never listen to excuses and promises.

It seems this happened here, and you may need to turn to your payment provider for help with a refund.

Has your wife fully registered for eBay's Managed Payments?  Even if her bank is already registered eBay need to know the bank for MP as some sellers prefer to use another,  see here:

Ebay should deal with sellers that offer 2 year warranty and then do not honour it even in the first 30 days

My wife has already had a payment from ebay but can't now recover money owed even with the same bank account , most of what she sells are grandkids clothes that they have grown out of or not wanted , ebay has been frustrating for her and so she is now moving over to Vinted , all of my vintage motorcycle spares that I now wish to sell will now be advertised on club forums and facebook , no more fees !!!

Ebay only offers a 30 day money back guarantee, any warranty is between buyer and seller. You do not buy from ebay, you buy from the seller on ebay.

Perhaps you have not realised yet that since October there have been no selling fees on ebay, unless you choose to pay for promotions, buyers are now being conned into paying the fees.

I understand this but the claim was made within the 30 days , seller was hanging it out and ebay could see this in the messages but just not interested , ebay are now allowing too many fraudulent sellers as are only interested in their profits , this case is being reported to trading standards and also Action Fraud

This is not my first bad experience , ebay has been convenient but I will now use other methods to find reputable sellers

If the claim was made within the 30 day timeframe, then it sounds like the seller was stalling you with false promises or excuses,  and you went over that 30 day time limit  for a refund, and case closed.

Opening a case,  the seller has 3 days to refund you , or send a paid label to receive their item back.

If they don't,  you Must escalate the case , and eBay step in and force the refund.

If you do not escalate,  with inactivity,  the case closes.

When you have a possitive response from a seller you expect it to be dealt with , was not requesting a refund by the way , was asking for a replacement

What you are saying is  ....  do not trust , escalate escalate escalate

Not the way to do business is it really ?

Yep,  that is partly what I am saying.

Not all sellers are untrustworthy thankfully,  and can make a promise and keep it,  but you as the buyer have to be aware of that essential 30 day timeline,  if it's getting close, and that promise is not being fulfilled,  then you Must escalate.

eBay is what eBay is.

eBay even warns buyers in the user agreement that "they do not guarantee the existence, quality, safety or legality of items advertised, or the truth or accuracy of descriptions". Would you have bought from a shop that said this?

They also make clear that apart from their own, 30 day money back guarantee, the sale is entirely the responsibility of the seller.

These are the conditions that you confirmed you had  read and accepted in the user agreement. eBay isn't like buying from the shops.

I understand all of this but you would expect ebay to be concerned about fraudulent sellers

but ebay is getting worse , my wife sent out a parcel , tracked and signature required , marked as delivered  , buyer claimed not recieved and ebay took the money back from her account

The point is that this is not the selling or buying platform it used to be , too many scammers !!
