Selling for free means just that, it does not mean that you do not pay for postage.
There are no listing fees or selling fees.

That's because you used a reserve and a Buy It Now with auction. eBay charges for all listing extras. Only basic listing is free. Next time just make your auction start price the minimum you want to get, or use Buy It Now only, without auction.

The reserve is an optional listing upgrade, a listing fee is always payable sale or no sale, and charged the second it goes live.
There's no need to use reserves, just list your item for the lowest amount you are happy to receive, it cannot sell for less. Then, if no other upgrade is added and it doesn't sell, there's nothing to pay.
There are no selling fees, it is free to sell, BUT if you add any upgrade, they all come with a non refundable listing fee, don't use them then there's nothing to pay, except for postage if you select ...Seller pays.
These are the chargeable listing fees:
Reserves: 4% of the set reserve ( maximum £150 per item)
Subtitles: £2
Listing in 2 categories: 35p
Gallery Plus: £2.50 ( free for clothes and shoes)
Listings with duration 1 - 3 days 35p
As a tip, before clicking on the final List Item With Displayed Fees button, glance just above it, it should read £0.00 Listing Fee.
If there is a fee amount listed there, you have selected an upgrade, and if you wish, it gives you time to scroll up and remove the payable upgrade.

Listing fees are non-refundable, and you added an optional chargeable upgrade (a Reserve).
The fee for this was shown just above the button that you click on to send your listing live, above that button is the displayed fee.
