EBay courier insurance cover

I have an item up for sale, I also have a buyer lined up however, as the item weighs 20kg and has a value of £1700, eBay do not offer a courier with enough insurance to cover the item, so I can’t sell.

It was never like this before, what has changed?

You have collection only on your listing.   If you had chosen collection or postage during the listing process you should have been able to opt out of Simple Delivery and therefore chosen your own postage with insurance.
