EBay closed a return request in favour of the buyer and they haven’t returned my item!!!

EBay have made a decision in favour of an indecent buyer who had no intention of returning my item and continued to open a case and ask for his money back. EBay have looked at the case and rewarded him his money while I was waiting for my item before I refunded him his money. 

it is a large petrol machine which was collection only. 

the useless eBay reps have told me if I wanted the item back I should have arranged to collect it myself. 

I would have but the buyer wouldn’t provide his address for collection. 

im now out of pocket and haven’t received my item back and eBay have closed the case! 

absolutely fuming with their service now. It’s terrible . I’ve been robbed.

I am pretty sure there is nothing you can do, ebay does not treat collection items any differently to posted ones when it comes to claims under the MBG.  That means they expect you to issue a paid for returns label so the buyer can return the item before you refund.  I am aware that it not really an option with most collection items but that's just the way it works.

Someone else might confirm, but you might have got the address if you had issued a label, which clearly wouldn't have been used by the buyer but you could have used the address to collect it from.

once a case is opened you need to provide a prepaid return label to the buyer.

If you did not do that then eBay would close the case and refund the buyer.

this is very important being you are a business seller as a buyer has statutory rights as well as the protection given by eBay.

But how can I provide a returns label for an item that was collected and the returns label would be extortionate in price to return this machine
