Duplicate Tracking Number

I’ve had an issue I’ve never had before.

Someone bought an item off me, I processed it like I would normally and sent it the post office the following day. 
It didn’t update on eBay, I checked the tracking via Royal Mail and the tracking number has already been in use, back in September 2025, it shows that tracked item was delivered in a different part of the country and now it has “accepted at parcel shop” from when I posted.

Anyone had this issue ? I’ve informed the buyer but I’ve been blanked, I’ve been sent in circles trying to contact eBay and Royal Mail by automated systems !!

Apparently RM reuse their tracking numbers and parcels can temporarily show the old details but should update shortly.

If you used Simple Delivery ebay would pay for loss in transit if the buyer opens a "not received" case.   But hopefully it will arrive.

Never seen anyone sort of tracking duplicate in a short space of time, fingers crossed the buyer gets what I sent him
