Don't have photo id

Ebay, after letting me make so many sales has randomly asked me for photo ID, I am a 32 Scottish male, never needed ID as I don't drink alcohol nor go to clubs or even go abroad. To open my bank account I used letters to prove who I am. I got told I can use a birth certificate and a letter as ID for ebay however, I am not able to just use money for such a thing even though it isn't dear. They want id by next month and I have no chance of doing so if ebay is holding my money 😐😐. Why should I need id? They said they want to prove the money goes into my account which they can see from statements, are ebay and their policies honestly this backwards? Like it makes me feel smart and I have brain damage. Alas though my question, how do I sort this? Without the awkwardness of getting id? I have letters and my bank card and an NHS prescription. Surely that should be enough?

Don't have photo id

eBay require this in order to be compliant with money laundry regulations.

If you're unable to supply this ID, you'll only be able to buyer on eBay, not sell.

To be honest, in this day and age of identity theft everyone should have some kind of photo ID, even if they have no need for a passport.

I can't drive or I would have one. It's also government guidelines for id
on here so I'm doomed for the most part biggest problem is my birth name
isn't the same as my known name, so I can get the id sorted somehow but
it'll ruin my account cause of name changes from years ago

If you can't supply the ID - essentially, your birth certificate and a recent letter with your name and address, both matching the name you gave Ebay when you registered your account, Ebay may hold your funds for up to 180 days.

All sellers have to prove their identity in this way at some point, sometimes sellers who have held accounts for many years are randomly asked for proof of ID.
