Does E bay  condone the sale of fake goods 

After reporting to ebay a item I had purchased to be a fake and in breach of copyright rules,  ebay said they could find nothing wrong with the advert .

So do they mind people posting fake goods or not?

The best way to deal with fake items is to open an Item not as Described return and have the seller pay to get it back and refund on return.

Ebay are notoriously bad at acknowleging a report for a fake item.

If your seller gets enough returns that they have to pay for they'll soon get the message plus it will cost them money.

No doubt your report was dealt with by AI, which would not identify a fake. In any case ebay never see what you receive, so willnot just take your word, for all they know you could be trying to damage a competitor's record.

That is not the way to deal with this sort of situation, you open a not as described case, to return at seller's expense and get a refund.

As returns get on file and it costs seller money as well as NEGATIVE feedback, it teaches seller more than reporting to a computer.
