Discounts and postage changes

Dear community;

I have been selling redundant vehicle items that I no longer need for vehicles I no longer have as I am clearing out. Sales result in purchases on Ebay not money withdrawn.

Recently, Ebay has been changing my selected and stated postal methods by Royal Mail to simple delivery etc without my agreement and sanction. Royal Mail suits me the seller !

Further, some items suddenly have a discount code added, again without my sanction or agreement.

My response has been to remove the postal option and in the description to add the reason why (Ebay) and asking watchers to complain.

Those adverts with a discount code I have advised any interested parties to not to use the discount and I'll pull the adverts at the weekend.

I can use marketplace or club advertisements if ebay doesn't stop this practice. Ebay will loose out.

Comments please ?

Many thanks.

Re: Discounts and postage changes

All private sellers have to use Simple Delivery now (except for some large letter £20 items under 100g).   However you can opt out of Evri and use Royal Mail, here:

It's ebay that covers the discount.

Re: Discounts and postage changes

Thats what I have done.
I have chosen Royal Mail tracked 48 as it suits me. I cannot print off
delivery labels etc and Ebay should ASK for permission before it alters
sellers adverts without permission. I'm sorry, but its the decent way to do
things.
If Ebay wishes to override sellers preferences, then it will loose
commision on Ebay sales as personally, I'll go elsewhere and there are
other platforms that will take adverts.
Kind regards.

Re: Discounts and postage changes

I really don't care if they do.
There is the point here that Ebay is altering a sellers adverts without rhe
sellers agreement or sanction. Ebay should OFFER the seller the alteration,
not just apply it.
There is a principal at stake here.
Kind regards.
