I received a damaged product
The seller offered a 15% discount on further purchases as a resolution
This was an expensive product and I don’t think that their offer warrants positive feedback

You don't have to accept a discount or leave any feedback as that's entirely voluntary, but if you are still within 30 days of the item's last estimated date for delivery, then you are entitled to a full refund under eBay's 30 day MBG, Money Back Guarantee policy.
Just proceed this way:
Go right of the item in your Purchase History, and from More Actions select Return this item, selecting the reason... Item Not as Described.
The seller has 3 days to accept the case, if they don't , you need to escalate on day 4, or within 30 days, and eBay will step in and force the refund.
If the seller wants the item back first, they need to pay for a fully tracked return postage. On receipt of their item they have 48 hours to refund you. Again, if they don't, you escalate the case.
Do not close the case early for any excuse or promise the seller may give, and do not forget to escalate.

Once you open that case listen to nothing the seller says about closing it early, just escalate on day 4 if the seller doesn't refund you , or doesn't send a tracked label, if they wish for the item to be returned first.
Also, open no other case for example with PayPal, if you have 2 cases open at the same time, they both will close as it looks like you're after 2 refunds.
Let the eBay case run and escalate if need be.
