Damaged in transit

Hi I sent a golf club to the Isle of Arran on 20 Oct via Evri as eBay suggested. It only arrived today and the shaft is snapped. Please advise next steps?

As a Private seller you should be using Simple Delivery.  Did you do so for this item?

Hopefully you did,  then  the buyer should open a case for not as described,  citing ... Damaged in transit,   eBay pays the buyer the refund for this,  and you get to keep the payout.

If you did not use SD, same case is opened,  but you will have to refund the buyer,  and try and claim compensation from RM or courier used for yourself for damage to the item.

If it's the one sold on 18th Oct, this wasn't send with eBay simple delivery so any claim will have to be made direct with Evri or Packlink if you got the label through them, you will have to refund the buyer the full price including postage, get them to open a claim for item arrived damaged and go from there.

Thanks for that but it’s impossible to get through to Evri.

Your buyer needs to be refunded first.  Ask them to open a case for item not as described, on receiving that case refund through it, and do so within 3 days,  that way your seller performance is not affected.

I Googled Evri earlier asking who to contact when an incorrect item was received,  and up popped two options for a Call Back or a Chat option.  Perhaps ask Mr Google this question,  just to get the options for Evri CS to pop up?
