I sold a record last week, it arrived at the seller damaged. She is happy to accept a partial refund, she has opened a return for a partial refund- which is fine. Does eBay cover damaged goods delivered? I am only getting the option to full refund or partial refund. Do I need to do this or will eBay cover the cost of the damaged item I sold? I don’t want to refund if eBay cover the costs anyway?? Any help would be appreciated!

Partial refunds are totally between you and the buyer, eBay don't get involved with this.
So, either eBay refund fully under their Simple Delivery rules, or you offer and pay for that partial refund, for the buyer to also keep that item.

Thank you. How do I get eBay to fully refund under their Simple Delivery rules? These are
the only options I am getting on attached picture?

Did you actually send it with an eBay Simple Delivery label though?

Yes, it went via evri, with a prepaid label that was printed off in the post office

Do you wish for the item to be returned to your first? Then, it's the first option to issue a return tracked postage, you pay for this, and then on the return if the reason is damaged in transit, eBay will refund the buyer.

the buyer only wants a partial refund- not to return it. I just don’t want to refund anything if it’s not my fault it was damaged in transit! Am still not sure how to do this!

That doesn't look like a Simple Delivery label to me, can you let us have the listing number please?

Yes it’s 306376269617
I do all my listings the same

using this method!

Right, so if it's definitely a Simple Delivery label and the buyer wants a full refund because their item has arrived damaged (and they've selected this exact reason as the reason for the return), then eBay should reimburse the buyer.
If they want a partial refund it comes out of your pocket.
How do you want to proceed?

Okay thanks. She didn’t put item was damaged in the return reason just that ‘it didn’t match description or photos’
i think a partial refund is easier on the long run! What would you refund her for a £147 sale??

Ebay only offer cover if the item was damaged in transit.
That is not what your buyer is saying - her claim is that the item doesn't match the description - so, you are liable and Ebay won't refund.
You only get one chance to offer a partial refund so it has to be the 'right' offer - one that suits you and your buyer.
Have they indicated how much they would expect?
Otherwise, it is up to you to make an offer that you feel is fair.
