Counterfeit Item

I bought a watch from a reputable seller in August 2025. From February 2026 it started malfunctioning so i took it to an expert to fix it. He told me it is a counterfeit watch. I have tried submitting a report on ebay but it does not let me. I paid through paypal and amex. How do i get my money back. I have also tried to contact the seller who has ignored me.

It is far too late to do anything through Ebay.

They allow you 30 days to return an item which is not as described.

Paypal also only give you 30 days to start any sort of a case - unless you are making a claim because you have not received a purchase.

I would try your credit card company and see if there is anything they can do.

Unfortunately you're way too late to get a refund from eBay, PayPal or your Amex.

If your seller is a business seller then their contact details will be on their listing, so if this is an expensive watch you may want to send them a letter before action (LBA, check Google for templates) and see if that results in any contact or action.

I called Ebay and they offered me a full refund. Great fast service and really surprised.

I honestly don't believe that they're refunding you for an item bought in 2025 until you confirm that you have received a full refund back to your funding source.
