Charged for cancelling

I'm trying to understand why have been charged £5.36 for cancelling an order due to out of stock. Has anyone experience this and can I request for refund afterwards?

There is no charge for cancellation, was it for postage label?

Private sellers do not have stock, you need to upgrade to business.

Cancelling as out of stock, gives seller a defect, but there is no charge involved.

This defect is going to prove very damaging for you. Ebay expect no more than 2 defects per 100 sales.
