Change of delivery method

My customer chose yodel as a delivery method but I’ve noticed he lives 45 minutes away and as the item is a bicycle it makes sense if I deliver it my self. He has agreed the delivery charge so it will cover my petrol cost. Also if he isn’t happy for any reason I can bring it back. How do I change this

At this stage, probably only be cancelling the sale and relisting the bike at an agreed buy-now price, for collection not delivery. (Let your buyer know so that he can buy it before anyone else does!) That way, your buyer will receive a collection code which he can give to you when you deliver it in person. You can probably reclaim the cost of any unused postal label.

 

If you simply rely on goodwill you will have to trust in your buyer's honesty, because without tracking proof of dispatch and delivery he is guaranteed a full refund if he claims not to have received it.
