Cannot message buyer for collection

I have sold a large item that is collection only

when the email from eBay was sent to let me know the item was paid for, I clicked on the contact buyer link.

when I sent the buyer my address for collection the message would not sent, I took out the the address and still failed to send?

In one section ebay was asking for a collection code or QR code why do I need this.

What do I need to do?

Collection code or QR code is important and is received by buyer, to give to you the seller as it is the only way to prove delivery. Without it buyer could collect, then open a not received case to get a refund.

Have you tried contacting using a different link, for example on buyers feedback page?
