Can't box item for return

I bought a left hand facing corner dining bench.  I was sent a right hand one.  I only discovered this once I had opened box and put it together.  Seller said it needs to be packaged to be returned.  The box was already damaged when I received it (took a picture) and there is now no way I can usd it.  I have no idea how to pack something so big.  What are my rights?  Surely, this should be on them to sort out.

You are supposed to send the item back in the same condition it was received in.

You can try contacting Ebay to explain the issue and see what they suggest.
