Buyer wants to cancel immediately that he won it

A buyer placed several bids over 6 of the 7 days that the listing was live. One minute after the listing ended he requested that the order was cancelled as he 'made a mistake'. It looks suspiciously like he was bidding on two of the same and won both, so now wants to avoid buying mine. Presumably if I agree to the cancellation, I cannot leave feedback to warn others about him?

I'm then also left having to relist, wasting my time. Plus I listed this item to run when there was a final fee offer in place, so even if I get similar sale in future, it'll cost me more to sell. Do I have any better options? I don't want to force him to pay as I don't trust him and am now concerned that he will not be honest about its condition at receipt.

You co the sensible thing and cancel the sale, then. no selling fee to pay, and add "buyer" to your. locked bidders list.

Getting involved with this sort of buyer only causes aggravation for sellers.

Didn't you read the message sent to members about how ebay is going to make it "easier" to do this. As far as I can see they are not really changing anything that sensible sellers would not do in any case.

You cannot leave negative comments on positive feedback, it can be removed and would cause you more trouble than the buyer.

Thanks John

I'm an occasional private seller so blocking him will do sweet nothing. He probably won't be interested in anything else I list anyway.  I've just been reminded why I left eBay a few years ago. I'll list the last few things I agreed to sell for a friend and then close my account...... permanently.
