Buyer wanting a refund

Hey everyone, I'm an ocassional seller on here with 100% feedback, something I'm proud of.

I just sold a pair of boots totalling roughly £75 and now the buyer has messaged accusing me of selling fake goods. This is certainly not the case.

Firstly, they've commented that the boots don't match a specific type/model . . . even though I never claimed they did or were supposed to for that matter.

Secondly, they told me that although the boots claim to be made in Taiwan, this means they're fake because this brand were never made in Taiwan, only Italy. After a quick Google search and a screenshot later, I proved to them that not only was Taiwan a manufacturer, but so was several other countries, including good old China. Apparently they outsource to keep up with global demand.

Also, the boots are apparently terrible quality with dreadful stitching, etc. I made sure I took lots of pictures to upload before advertising them and they were in perfect condition. In fact, if I wasn't happy with the quality, they wouldn't be advertised. At this point I didn't know what to say, I did reply stating that if they were that bad, surely they would've noticed on the listing maybe before buying? I take pride in my listings, I always highlight good and bad points.

Lastly, I always advertise my items stating that I DO NOT accept returns. There are several reasons for this, but needless to say, this example of dealing with a minority of irritating buyers is up there.

Can anyone advise me on how to approach things from here? Ebay have my funds on hold, but I can't seem to contact Ebay directly to deal with this. The buyer asked for a full refund, but I declined in accordance with my listing guidlines. After what I've heard from them, I honestly don't know what I'd be receiving back. Besides this, knowing that I'll have my first negative feedback against me seems so unfair.

Thanks for your patience folks.

It doesn't matter to ebay what reason  the buyer gives for a claim that the item is 'not as described', and sellers only have two options if the buyer wants a full refund.

1. Refund without requiring a return.

2. Provide a paid for returns label and refund on return.

With 2 you can report the buyer for abusing the money back guarantee to get round your no change of mind return policy, and you may get the return postage refunded.

If you receive something different back, come here for advice before doing anything, but my guess is they just don't fit and the buyer is lying so they can return them.  For this reason accepting change of mind returns is usually a good idea.
