Buyer not received item

Hi.

I have had a quite a few "not received my item" requests the last few days.  I have sent via Royal Mail 2nd Class and have a receipt for proof of posting.  Where do I stand as I haven't received the money from the item as ebay are holding it.  I cant refund as I dont have the money to do so.

Also, what is the outcome for situations like this?  Am i covered from ebay?

Thanks

If the buyers don't receive their items and open a case, you should refund within the time allowed by Ebay.

After you send the refund, Ebay will release the buyer's payment to you so you may be out of pocket for a short while.

You can't claim the money back from Ebay.  You would have to use your proof of posting to make a claim against Royal Mail.

The above applies if you have posted items with just a stamp on and no tracking.  However, items you send with Simple delivery, which do have tracking, the process would be different.

Personally, I would not send anything that I sold for over £10 with just a stamp on.

Additionally, you have got quite a mixture of postage options on your cards.

Some are advertised with RM Signed For.

That is not a good service to use as it covers items valued up to £20 only.

If a signed for item did go astray, you would not be covered if it was worth more than £20.
