Buyer no address on checkout and then messaging separately where to send

Hi, I've sold an item for about £100 and on checkout the buyer has paid but not added an address on checkout so the postage label is blank. He has then messaged me separately with an address. This feels heavily of scam to me, but I must confess I dont use Ebay to sell much. I've spoken to Ebay who advised his normal address is 'similar' so I should just send it. Im probably worrying about nothing but I told them no and cancelled the order. Is this normal or does it seem like a scam? Just in case it happens again. Thanks

Correctly you only send to the address supplied once item is paid for and showing on the address to send too which ebay supply. It is impossible to have a blank address.

Correctly you should cancel the order with problem with buyers address to protect yourself.

Thank you. The postage literally had nothing on, no address was supplied so I cancelled it. Thanks for your advice
