Bought an item which was hand-delivered by the seller but bought as posted

Bought an item from a seller but they agreed to hand-deliver rather than post out, which was convenient for me too.

However, I can’t now confirm that I’ve received the item (and therefore release payment to him) because the system is expecting a tracking code.

anyone know how I can rectify this? The help screen is pretty much useless for this.

You cannot do anything,  and neither can the seller , to speed up that payment.

Under the new Simple Delivery process,  collection items when listed bought and paid for,  the buyer receives a QR code,  this to hand to the seller to scan , and that is the only proof the item has been collected and facilitates a faster payout.

There is no code here,  the item being listed originally for posting,  so the seller will have to wait 14 days for their payout.

If the item was under the value of £25,  if you leave the seller feedback,  that will release the payout sooner.

When a listing is set up for an item to be posted out, eBay are expecting a tracking number to show delivery.

Without that, the seller will need to wait 14 days for their payment to be released, but if you leave feedback that might help.
