Hi Guy's, can anyone tell me how much an item needs to sell for before it gets sent to an authentication centre?

I thought it was £500 and under, but I sold an item for £480 plus buyer protection and postage which still came to under £500 and they still want to send the item to the authentication centre? So why is that?

While £500 and over is the general requirement for jewellery items "eBay may amend the eligibility requirements for Eligible Items, including, but not limited to category, and/or value of items and/or transactions."
