Appeal of a late delivery rejected even though buyer asked for a shipment delay!

Hi,

Has anyone been asked to delay a delivery by a customer through ebay messaging?  We agree a dispatch date we stick to this even though we have a late delivery mark.  I have appealed this and its been rejected as we have dispatched past our standard ebay settings.

This is extremely frustrating as we wanted to accommodate a buyer outside of our ebay standard practice and now I am being penalised as a seller because I have tried to give good customer service !!!!

If anyone has experienced this how have they taken it further?

Thank you

Sophie

Its an annoying rule as you try and do right by the customer.

The easiest way round this we have found is to advise the customer in message that you dispatch on the day they have requested, however in advance of this you will mark the item as dispatched in your seller hub within your timeframe for dispatching items to avoid the strike.

Following this up do not put the tracking number in the order where it says add tracking again this will get you penalised, we just message the buyer to say item dispatched and here is the tracking if you need it type of thing.

Afraid ebay is very rigid on dispatch dates, on occasions I have explained to buyer the problem and either arranged to cancel and resell or if only a matter of a few days just marked as dispatched.

This does not help once ebay have recorded a late dispatch, but might help in the future.

This can be very annoying if buyer is buying several items over a period of several days, unless seller can ask them not to pay until invoiced. For private sellers with ebay’s inflexible  Simple Delivery even worse.
