Anything but Simple.

Having been a seller on eBay for years and it been easy to do, now we have this so called Simple Delivery it is any thing but simple, having sold one thing with this new simple delivery (which took me a long time to work out the delivery section and I didn't use the prepaid label) I now have found that eBay has taken £4.29 postage so there no point in selling if eBay is going to take money for nothing. Not everyone wants to have prepaid label some of us are quiet happy writing labels out and going to drop the items at the post office ourselves.

Anything but Simple.

Simple Delivery is mandatory now for all Private sellers.

You can of course use your own postage if you wish, but your payouts may then be held for a minimum of 14 days before release,  and you have to remember if you had Seller pays for postage (  The old ' Free Postage), to then cancel that label for your refund for the unused label , and to do so  within 14 days.

I'm not the greatest fan of SD, please don't get me wrong there,  but it does have some benefits, in that if your item is lost in the post or arrives damaged in transit,  eBay take over the refund,  and you get to keep the payment for the item.

As tressygirl says “in that if your item is lost in the post or arrives damaged in transit,  eBay take over the refund,  and you get to keep the payment for the item.”

That may be the theory, but I have heard of ebay making the refund then debiting the seller. It also assumes seller is aware of this or again when seller is told by ebay to refund.

Much more reliable when if using Royal Mail in event of loss or damage claim was made by seller on Royal Mail after refunding.
