Sellers have to verify your age at the point of sale and it has to be with a credit card.

Could somebody else buy the item for you and you reimburse them?

eBay accepts only two methods of verifying your age. Through a third-party partner of eBay called VerifyMyAge, or by providing credit card details for verification. The card will not be charged or saved.
