Age verification

Ive tried to buy a chainsaw. It says i have to age verify (im 69!) Because it is a blade which it obviosly is not. I dont have a credit card. How can i verify theres no option other than entering a credit card as i have a debit card

Using a credit card is the only option on the site.

Bladed or not, surely nobody under 18 should be allowed to buy a chainsaw!

The only way around it is to ask somebody who does have a credit card (grown up children?) to pay, and reimburse them.

As ive been a member since 2002 which makes me a minimum of 24 assuming i
joined ebay at birth that should be enough.

There are numerous other ways in which eBay could verify age, but all would involve extra procedures for checking. eBay obviously doesn't want the bother. Insisting on payment by credit card, which is only available to persons over 18, solves that problem. It's eBay's site, eBay's rules.
