I don’t have a credit card to verify my age. I only wanted to buy a letter opener but was prevented from doing so because it was considered a bladed article. I’ve had my eBay account for 19 years so how can I be regarded as under 18? Will eBay be offering an alternative verification method?
It’s not about the law - it’s about giving buyers options. I have no option to prove my age. I also can’t arrange for a friend to buy something when there’s 1 minute left on the auction! I don’t think the law is there to prevent 40-something year olds buying a vintage letter-opener. Just sort out an alternative for those of us who don’t use credit cards!
