A returned item case

Dear All,

I sold a book to a member in the USA for £95.00. He did not wish to keep the book, claiming it was not as described. I agreed to refund the buyer once he returns the book. He asked me to send him $50 for shipping back the item, which is a horrendous amount. I complained to eBay, and they suggested we share the cost of shipping. I transferred him $25.00, being my share. Now eBay closed the case in his favour, stating that I refused to accept the returned item. The buyer was refunded £100.00. I have been with eBay for over 25 years I have never had to face such a problem. My positive feedback is over 3000. How can I appeal the case? The buyer got his money and kept the book. Is this fair?

Regards

berytus

A returned item case

Nope, not fair at all and in my humble opinion,  asking you both to share the cost of the return postage was nonsense!

Try and appeal the decision here, with the link below.    I won't admit it's easy,  and do try very first thing in the morning when the lines first open at 8 a.m. on weekdays, 9 a.m. on weekends as there's more chance of Dublin answering if you are contacting CS direct.

Hi Tessy,
I followed your suggestion and contacted customer service on chat. The
person who handled this case was very comprehensive and he accepted my
appeal and the case was closed in my favour,
Thanks
