win an iphone for £1

I have just followed a link from ebay after being prompted by a pop-up that i have been selected to participate in what appeared to be a legit survey.  I eneded up winning an iphone and was asked to pay £1  whch I did.  This then opened up other links into what seems to be a recurring subscription into a gaming thing of sorts that will charge me £49.95 on a  monthly basis.  I also received a text on my phone asking me to follow a link that asks you to pay for delivery.   What is going on?  IS this a scam?

Kind regards

Not really a scam, you should read what you have signed up to. It would be nothing to do with ebay, just one of the many pop up ads. for the unwary.

You will need to cancel any direct debits you have set up because otherwise you will be charged monthly.

Google Ad. Blockers as you need one of tese to stop this sort of ad. I use AdGuard AdBlocker & AdBlocker Ultimate. They are free and very effective.

I would guess so!  I very much doubt that the survey would be approved with eBay.  Say what you like about their business they certainly do not approve you paying £50 per month.

Clean the computer with anti-virus software and so on. Check your bank statements and contact your bank if any such payments made
