why can e bay take money via paypal - i am not a seller

EBay can't "take buyers' money via. PayPal".

When you buy something here, you are given a choice of payment methods at checkout. These include paying by Paypal, but you can select another way if you prefer.

Hi I did not purchase anything to cover this on this payment ( nothing on my purchase list to account for the payment taken) this is something ebay took a payment and i an unable to resolve why, and cant get to the bottom of it.
What a nightmare cant speak to anyone !  HELP
