What's the justification for the postage fee? 

I'm referring to postage fees imposed on the Seller.

Fair or not the solution is to allow for the fee in the cost of your items or the P&P you charge

Sellers who offer FREE (inclusive) P&P have always been charged this

It isn't really an eBay problem.....it was the dodgy sellers either avoiding fees with low item prices & huge P&P or using the same to manipulate searches.......it is a sledgehammer to crack a nut but will not change now

An alternative solution would be for eBay to monitor postage fees to prevent scam, in the first place. Ideally, I would opt for a transparent system where there is a product fee and a postage fee, instead of an inclusive price tag. In my opinion, there is no logical justification for the levy on postage. Ultimately, Sellers lose, eBay gains.

It is the easiest option for eBay & they would in an ideal world prefer all sellers to offer inclusive P&P

You are already losing on P&P as yu appear in most cases to be only charging the stamp price where you should be charging for packaging....also remember Paypal take 3.4% as well....it is also worth noting that for example your Pandora would require Special Delivery at around £7 to be covered by Royal mail......anything over £20 required Recorded DElivery & anything else over £50 also requires Special Delivery

Sellers were scamming eBay out of their fees by charging £1 for an item and £50 postage.

Now your charged on postage also to stop the Scam.

Agree but it was going on a long while & eBay had to do something.
I know people who still think they could go on eBay & do the same thing now, I've had to put them straight.

We would be able to answer better if you had given us some clue as to what postage fee

If the postage is on an item when you buy it then that is what you pay

Postage is Postage and packaging not just a stamp price

When you buy an item then you agree to pay the price on the listing for the postage

If that is the case and you buy the item then you are agreeing to the postage cost
If you think it is too much then do not buy from that seller

If buying from overseas and the item is on the Globel Shipping Programme then the seller has no control over the postage that ebay charge.

Then the buyer has accepted your postage terms

A quick check of your postage prices seem you in most cases only charge the actual postage stamp which is very fair

You need to watch any item that is over £20 as compensation on 1st and 2nd class only covers up to £20
You have one item that is over that and needs to be sent tracked or special delivery
