unpaid item

I listed a shirt, auction, all my items are listed as PayPal only, I have however opted in to global shipping. The item was won by a chap in Germany. I waited for payment, and then received a message from him (in german ) which said....PayPal were idiots! and as he didn't have a credit card on file he could not pay by paypal. He wanted bank details to pay.
I replied politely, stating I only accepted PayPal, and contacted eBay. They informed me that as the listing clearly stated PayPal only I could raise a case to get final fees refunded. This I did and then closed the case. That I thought was the end of it.
Not so! I receive a message from eBay stating I have until the 22nd May to respond to a case raised by the buyer! I go into the resolution centre, no open cases!
When I follow the link in the eBay message it asks me to log into eBay in german. I haven't done that so far, but from what I can see from the message he is asking me to pay for return postage. The thing is he never received the shirt, I didn't post it as he never paid for it!!! I'm seriously losing the will to live with eBay at the moment, how on earth can they let a case be raised against me !!!!

And an edited update. Not easy dealing with a case in a German resolution centre when you don't speak German! With the assistance of Google translation, it seems that after I raised and closed my case in the UK,  the buyer  (that didn't pay) raised a case. I assume he must have received notification from eBay re strike against his account, so he raised a case asking to return the item (which he didn't receive as he didn't pay for it) as he had changed his mind.

In agreeing to this he gets the strike removed.

Interesting to see what happens next, as Iv now had a message from eBay stating he has until the 4th of June to return the shirt to me😆
