seller underpaid postage

Hi

I purchased a coin from a seller on 21 august £3.40 postage paid on item , the post office delivered a leaflet saying the item was underpaid on postage and I would need to collect from sorting office and pay an extra £3 to get item which I did, contacted buyer and told him of the extra charge, with pics  of original packing with my address and his and post office label with postage to pay, he said he was on holiday and can not see how I had to pay extra postage.and would look at it when he got back, heard nothing he has now left positive feedback, but left this comment " Made false claims regarding postage charges. Very Poor Buyer "

I am not happy with this comment as I have the proof I was charged for the postage payment so have not made a false claim and do not class myself as a poor buyer  can I get ebay to remove his feedback as I believe this is unfair , but because of the length of time that has elasped i cant seem to find a way on ebay to get it removed as he has only just left feedback.

It's possible that the seller paid the correct postage, but the stamps fell off. It happens surprisingly often.

What a dreadful seller, to allow this to escalate into a dispute, with both of you trashing each other's feedback.

All the seller had to do was refund your excess payment, and ask you to send him your receipt for the overpayment. If his own proof of posting showed that he had paid the correct amount, he could probably have claimed the excess back anyway.

My advice would be to phone eBay customer support, see Help & Contact above (be patient!). Hopefully they will still remove the "false positive" comment he left. Act quickly, there may be a 30 day time limit. If eBay removed the comment, your seller will also receive a warning from eBay for feedback policy violation.

When you are asked to pay postage to the Post office as there is insufficient on the item you should contact the seller first before paying

You have no way of forcing them  to refund the postage once you have paid it

If you dont pay it then the item would be sent back to the seller and you open a not received dispute

Too late now to do that

Sellers are not allowed to leave anything but positive for a buyer and that seller has violated ebay policy by leaving a positive with a negative comment

Report to ebay to get it removed

It seems to say it was in the last month so you should be within time
