ok...ordered a simple auto gear stick cover and the wrong one was sent. Contacted the seller who apologised and promised to resend the correct item. That was 6 months and close to 10 emails ago. Finding it difficult to get eBay to step in as only directed to "helpful articles". Any suggestions please?
You have left it far too late to ask eBay or even Paypal.
You can receive a full refund for item not received if you claim within 30 days, after that item's last estimated date for delivery with eBay. Paypal have a 180 day buyer protection policy to cover these instances.
The timeline for both Companies has lapsed.
The seller fobbed you off with excuses and promises, no doubt re the time to send items to Australia. Promises cannot be enforced, cases can.
Never leave it this long to claim for a refund, nothing you can do here now
The rules are clear you open a case it gives the seller 3 days to refund fully, if not you escalate on day 4 and eBay force the refund. As said some sellers fob you off with excuses, so there is no eBay loophole, you ignore a sellers false pleas and promises, you just open that case and escalate within the timelines, and you are guaranteed a refund.
