Don't count on it.

There are endless scams in the motors section. EBay doesn't do enough to find and remove them, but even when they do as  fast as one listing is removed, another appears. A senior police officer in London reported that one criminal gang alone had registered "multiple hundreds" of fake accounts on eBay to place fraudulent listings for motor vehicles.

Sadly, the reason this is so lucrative is that so many buyers, like yourself, don't read the terms of eBay's money back guarantee, or realise that there is NO BUYER PROTECTION WHATSOEVER for vehicles bought here, however you pay. (Unfortunately, there's also no protection for deposits, for vehicles or anything else.)

If it's any consolation, you're not alone. In one morning alone we heard of three buyers who had each lost over £6k paying for non-existent vehicles.

You've done all you can by reporting this to action fraud, but I'm afraid there's very little chance of getting your money back.
