scam adverts

There seems to be loads of scam adverts on ebay motors at the moment, all of them with the second photo as an email address which doesn't match the seller.  Think ebay has been hacked but it is imposssible to contact themto investigate!

No,eBay hasn't been hacked. It's just business as usual.

Over a year ago, a senior police officer reported that one criminal gang London alone had registered "multiple hundreds" of fake accounts on eBay to place fraudulent listings for motor vehicles.

You can report individual listings, if you like, but you will have to report each one separately. Even if eBay takes any notice, they're likely to reappear under another ID almost immediately after.

It's been like this for years. We regularly hear from buyers who have lost thousands of pounds - three in the same morning once.

There is NO BUYER PROTECTION WHATSOEVER for vehicles bought here, however the buyer pays. Many don't realise this, which is why they're so easily conned and why the motors section is a magnet for criminals.

Use the report button, on every listing, halway down on the right.
