recent fee

i have recently sold an item on ebay for £160 + £15 postage total £175.00, the overall fee was £22.70. I know i get charged 10% & vat on the total which i think in this case comes to £21.00 so what is the other £1.70 charge for? i cannot find the answer anywhere and i wish that ebay would allow you to click on the fee to see a breakdown of charges instead of just having the anount there with no explination??

It would help you if you had the charges correct.  Fee is 12.8% + 30p, there is no seperate VAT.

According to my calculations ebay's charge is exactly right.

Old payment system was 2.9% + 30p to paypal 10% to ebay. Once on managed payments, which most are now on is 12.8% + 30p to ebay, no more paypal.

I suspect people would get confused if there were 2 fee rates on the info, I think all sellers have to move to MP by 31 may, so probably ebay update after then.
