If it was the size you stated, you're not a business seller so you don't have to accept change of mind returns.
That said, IMO it's better to accept them on the basis that the buyer pays the return postage.
Otherwise, the risk is that the buyer "discovers" some reason why it isn't as described and uses eBay's money back guarantee. EBay never checks, and you would then have to refund in full, and send a prepaid return label if you antit back.
Hi strictly speaking private sellers do not have to agree to refund upon return of the item to you if it does not fit .....this is classed as a change of mind purchase which you can refuse.
Be aware though that the buyer could leave you negative feedback.........Ebay SHOULD remove it but they can be a bit inconsistent about removing feedback 😞
I do not offer change of mind refunds but saying that......to protect my account i would probably ask the buyer to open a return case and i would agree to the return and refund. In this situation the buyer has to pay for the return tracked postage themselves.
IF a buyer opens a not as described case.....you HAVE to agree to refund upon return and also supply the buyer with a return tracked label at your expense.
What you can and cannot do as a private seller depends entirely on what type of case a buyer has opened.
