paypal won't work with ebay

For a few weeks now, I haven't been able to buy on Ebay with PayPal. Anyone know what this is about, please?

Paypal have been updating there site recently,however,what error/message do you get when trying to pay?

Some issues can be sorted using a different browser on ebay like Chrome,Edge,or firefox.Also scrapping the app on a mobile device and using a browser instead

Thanks for getting back to me. There's no actual error message; the system progress `clock' just spins endlessly as soon as I hit `pay'. I approached PayPal first, thinking the fault was with them, but they referred me back to Ebay - hence my post. I've since actually spoken (!) to an Ebay support person, who told me that there was a known issue. She also queried my anti-virus (seems irrelevant as nothing's changed there for about 4 years and was ok until about a week ago). Basically told me to wait a while and all will be restored - but nothing so far....hmmm. I tried switching browsers - same fail. Thanks again for taking the trouble to be helpful. QJ.

Despite courteous but platitudinous assurances from actual phone conversation, PayPal - eBay service still not restored - so annoying.

Switch browser to firefox or chrome, I have had to switch between the 2 to pay,
sometimes firefox works, sometimes chrome.

Thanks for replying. I've already tried switching from Chrome to Opera , (neither worked) but will give Firefox a go. However, I don't understand why I should suddenly be having this problem after years of smooth PayPal/eBay function.

Opera is a Chrome based browser hence the same issue

This has been widely reported & the cause has not yet been fully discovered

I'm not sure if there have been updates to eBay/Paypal or updates to web browsers/plug ins causing the glitch

Last night using Opera browser was fine,,,,,switched on today & Opera updated......I got the error.;..so I suspect the issue is with Chrome not Paypal

Tried the older version of Firefox I had on my PC & it worked fine.....so making sure Firefox does not update now until the bug is fixed
