overcharged by 1p

Not that it's a lot of money, but twice now I have noticed that when i checkout the price has jumped by a penny, listed at £9.99 but when i checked out it went up to an even £10, previously I purchased something for about £5.04 and that jumped to £5.05 at checkout. Why is this happening? Thanks

If buying from Chinese sellers, they often charge 1p postage, so may be this is it.

Thanks for your reply, but I'm not sure that is happening. Not bought from China, in both cases it was free postage. I'm not concerned about the penny just wondered why the price jumped a penny at checkout. To get technical, it is probably illegal to do that, but like I say it's only a penny.
