hi everyone i haD ANOTHER TIMEWASTER WHO BID ON MY ITEM AND HAD NO INTENTION OF PAYING.I HAVE ALWAYS SAID THAT EBAY SIDES WITH THE BUYER AND IT IS INFURIATING.I WAS SELLING A CAR AND I HAVE NOW RECIEVED £25 REFUND FOR SELLING.I ALSO BELIEVE I SHOULD GET THE £11.99 FOR LISTING THE VEHICLE AS THROUGH NO FAULT OF MY OWN I AM OUT OF POCKET AND STILL HAVE VEHICLE.I HAVE OVER 1600 POS FEEDBACK BUT THIS IS THE LAST TIME I EVER SELL A VEHICLE ON HERE.RANT OVER
If you had paid to put an ad in a shop window or a local newspaper, agreed a sale, then been let down, would you expect a refund?
Likewise, autotrader - do you get a refund when you place an ad there?
Somewhere along the line people have to stop thinking that caps lock trumps common sense.
Listing fees are advertising fees.....they are never refundable....just as a business seller pays for every advert......if they list 50 items & sell them &10 do not pay then they are still stuck with 10 lots of advertising fees
• Due to the entirely different pricing structure for vehicle sales these are not included in your monthly fee listing allowance OR free listing promotional offers
•
•
• The fees for selling a vehicle can be quite high & are charged in most cases even if the vehicle does not sell as they are made up of two parts
•
• The first are listing fees
•
• The minimum basic listing fee is £11.99
• There is also a fee of £5.99 if you add a Buy Now price
• There is a fee of £9.99 is you add a reserve
•
•
• The second are final value or sales commision fees if the vehicle sells
•
• These fees are 1% of the sale price (minimum fee £25 max £45)
•
•
• It is important to note that you may not include any contact details in your listings nor can you supply these at any time until after a listing has ended with a buyer........there is no option on eBay to view before committing to buy........
•
• It is also worth noting that in the event of a non paying bidder or cancellation that the listing fees above are still charged, you can only reclaim the final value fee
•
•
•
• The exceptions to these charges & the cheapest & safest way to sell a vehicle is as a classified ad
•
• The fee for this £19.99
•
• THERE ARE NO ADDITIONAL FEES IF YOU SELL
•
• The listing runs for 28 days
• You only end the listing after payment so no non paying bidder issues
• You can include contact details
• You can choose to accept less than the advertised price (ie you can accept offers)

If the listing had ended without a buyer you would have been charged the listing fee and would be charged again for relisting, there is no difference.
You're also not allowed to include a contact number in your listing, I'm surprised the ebay bots didn't pick up on that, but then again ![]()
If you use a classified ad it's a one off listing fee of £19.99, no final selling fee, ad is up for 28 days and you take it down when you have an actual cash in hand buyer.

You can also include contact details in the listing which you can't for auction or Buy It Now listings.
the listing fee is non refundable,
you pay a listing fee to advertise your car, your car was advertised, so you have to pay the fee
Listing fees for vehicles has never been refundable.
For listing cars, your better selling as a Classified add so you dont get timewasters. You pay a basic insertion fee for a 28 day listing,no fvf fees to pay,no disputes can be opened you choose your buyer and payment method, and simply end when you sell and receive payment. You can find the option on the advaced listing form
