Just Sold An Item I have been left a negative without even being paid

Message the buyer and explain that somebody else placed a bid during the last minute of the auction which pushed the final selling price up from £42 to £60.99.

Your buyer was obviously happy to pay more than £42 for the item otherwise they wouldn't have placed a bid for more than that.

I would contact ebay cs and appeal the feedback, that comment should be removeable.

You can open an unpaid item dispute 2 full days after the listing ended and if the buyer does not pay, close the case on 'day' 5 when you see on the case screen an option to get a fee credit.  At that point the buyer will get a strike and you can have the feedback removed.
